“Welcome to Wolfram and Hart,” Harmony chirped as a motorcycle helmet clad person walked up to the front desk. “How can I help you?”

“I need to see Angel,” the mysterious person replied, looking around the lobby at all the different people and demons going about their business.

Harmony frowned at the slightly familiar feminine voice. “I’m sorry, he’s… unavailable right now,” she stated, reaching for a fuzzy pen. “You can make an appointment to come and see him though. Now where did I put that planner…” Harmony ducked down, shifting through assorted pink posted notes. “Aha! Here we go. Now can I get your name, miss…” She trailed off when she noticed that the lady was gone. “Well, that was rude,” she huffed. The phone rang. “Hello, Wolfram and Hart…”

In the ladies room, the woman removed her helmet, releasing a dark mane of hair to fall about her shoulders. Faith grinned into the mirror. “All right, Angel, my man,” she smirked at her reflection. “Let’s find out what the hell you’re doing in this zoo.” Leaving the restroom and crouching in the hallway leading from the lobby, Faith noticed that Harmony had her back turned while talking on the phone. Glancing around, the path to the door on the other side of the lobby looked wide open. Using her Slayer speed, Faith dashed across the lobby and slipped through the conveniently unlocked door into the dark office. Shutting the door quietly behind her, Faith looked around the office. “Shnazy,” she muttered, sauntering over to the desk. She proceeded to poke through Angel’s things, grinning at the assorted weapons she found hiding in the drawers.

Bing! Faith’s head shot up as the elevator doors opened and out walked… “Kya!!!” she screamed, jumping up from the desk, knocking assorted things off. She starred at the puppet that looked a hell of a lot like Angel while the puppet seemed to stare right back at her with a look of shock on its face. Slowly a grin spread across her face. “Kya!!” she screamed again, this time lunging forward toward the puppet. Before it could anything, Faith reached out her hands and… picked up the puppet, glomped it to her chest and squeed.

“You are the cutest thing in the world!” Faith squealed, twirling around with the puppet held tightly in her arms. “And you look like Angel, which is so awesome! I dig puppets!” Faith proceeded to prance around the office with the puppet, cooing about it every second. It took her a while to realize that noises were coming from the puppet. When it registered to her that the puppet was making funny noises, she stopped twirling and looked down at the puppet, which proceeded to look up at her.

“Faith,” it spoke in a very Angel sounding voice.

“Kya!!!!” Faith screamed one last time, throwing the puppet into the air and drop kicking it across the room. With a thump and a grown, the Angel puppet landed behind the desk. Faith grabbed hold of the closest portable thing, which happened to a remote, and stalked toward the desk.

“Faith, wait!” came from behind the desk. Faith narrowed her eyes, gripping the remote tighter, ready to strike at any moment as the puppet pulled itself up into the chair. “It’s me! Angel! You know, Angel, the vampire whose always trying to help you. It’s me. I’m not evil,” the puppet tried to explain, looking desperately at her.

“You’re at Wolfram and Hart,” was Faith’s automatic response.

“I can explain. Just, put down the remote, okay? Please? I’ve already suffered the ridicule of the others, been half eaten by a werewolf, and fought a demon puppet. I don’t think the remote can do much worse.”

Faith lowered the remote, giving the puppet a long hard look. “…Angel?”

Angel sighed. “In the flesh. Well, more like, in the felt,” he replied, looking at his little hand.

Faith starred at Angel. He stared back at her. Faith cracked first, collapsing and rolling on the floor, laughing her ass off. “You’re… a… puppet…” she gasped between laughs, “… a… cute… one… even…”

“Hey!” Angel growled at her, “stop laughing!” Faith caught one look at Angel’s angry face, and started laughing even harder.

“*sigh*”

Faith slowly stopped laughing and finally ended up sitting on the edge of the messed up desk, still occasionally chuckling. “So,” she smirked at the obviously peeved puppet vampire, “apparently being evil turns you into a puppet. Are Wes and Lorne and the others puppets too?”

“I’m not evil,” Angel claimed, attempting to put stuff in semi-order on his desk.

Faith lifted an eyebrow. “Sure you’re not. You’re just working for Wolfram and Hart for the heck of it.”

Angel sighed once again. “It’s… complicated,” he said, gesturing his hand and head in the way that puppets tend to gesture. “The puppet thing was a spell though that I accidentally got hit with. It should wear off in the next couple of days.” Angel looked up at Faith, who still had a smirk on her face. “By the way, what are you doing here?”

Faith picked up the clock still sitting on the desk, examining it. “Andrew. He said that you were working here. Running the place. I had to check it out myself, since last I heard, they were hiring people to kill you.” She looked back at him. “So it is true. You’re the head cheese.”

“Yes. But I’m doing good,” he insisted. “We’re helping people. More people than we were before.”

Faith rolled her eyes. “Whatever, Angel. If you say so.” She stood up, stretching. “Since everything is ‘okay’, I guess I’ll head out.”

“Wait!” Angel reached out his puppet hand. “Don’t you want to catch up? Like how things are going in your life and, and other stuff.”

Faith leveled her eyes on the vampire-turned-puppet. “What do I say? ‘Fought in a big apocalypse, survived, traveling world fighting varies baddies.’ Not much more to it. However,” she mused, putting a finger to her lips, “there is one last thing…”

“Anything, Faith. I don’t want you leaving feeling, well, not happy with me.”

Faith grinned.

Angel sighed. He couldn’t believe that he was doing this.

“Keep going, mister CEO.”

Angel sighed one last time and went back to singing. “It's time to put on makeup, it's time to dress up right…”
